We are Ana Luz (Buenos Aires 1985) and Maxime Boniface (Strasbourg 1981), we met in 2008 and started a family together, and in 2012 thanks to our friend Alejandro Cohen, who made us understand the negative impact of livestock farming on the environment and the horror of animal exploitation, we began to change our diet towards a plant-based diet. We lived in Buenos Aires and far from missing the “asado”, the hardest thing to give up was the cheese of animal origin! At that time we were worked in audiovisual content, but we wanted to make a 180-degree turn and do our part to help facilitate the protein transition that our society needs. That’s why we came to Barcelona in 2015 and started the Väcka project, which began as a small restaurant in the Gracia neighborhood but we always had the ambition of taking the experience of cheese of animal origin to a new level, a “plant-based”, cruelty free level.
In 2019 we were lucky enough to learn about the Apocapoc project and we were able to open our workshop there, a perfect nest to continue working while aligned with our values. In 2021 we officially launched our products on the market and consolidated our figure as an SL. It’s in that moment that we decided to put all our focus on the design of vegetable alternatives that convince the most demanding palates.
We are very excited to continue growing with your support and to be able to help all the people who, like us back in 2012, want to take the step to a plant-based diet free of animal
cruelty. Will you join us in this journey
